Madhur Bhandarkar is an Indian film director, scriptwriter, and producer.

Bhandarkar was awarded the fourth highest civilian honour by the Government of India.

He has won the National Film Award for Best Film on Social Issues for his dramas Page 3, Traffic Signal, and Fashion, as well as the National Film Award for Best Feature Film for the first time.

The National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Bengali was won by the film adaptation of the novel Aparajito by Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay.

He was nominated by the Information and Broadcasting Ministry to be a society member of the film and television institute.
