He is famous for his patriotic-themed films and is also known as 'Bharat Kumar'.

Manoj Kumar has been honored with seven Filmfare Awards and a National Film Award.

He has been recognized with two awards for his contributions to Indian cinema and arts.

Born into a Brahmin family in Abbottabad, a town in the North-West Frontier Province of British India, his actual name is Harikrishan Giri Goswami.

Due to the partition, his family had to move to Delhi.

Manoj Kumar earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hindu College.

As a young man, he desired to be called 'Manoj Kumar', inspired by a character he portrayed in Shabnam.
