About Leena Chandavarkar

Leena, a former Indian actress, was a leading actress in Bollywood movies and now stars in reality shows.

She was a prominent actress in the 60s and 70s, acting opposite many superstars of that time.

Leena's father, an Army officer who spoke Konkani and Marathi, influenced her upbringing.

Initially set to debut in the film 'Maseeha' directed by Sunil Dutt, Leena actually made her debut in 'Man ka Meet' also directed by Sunil Dutt.

Almost immediately after its release, 'Man ka Meet' turned Leena into an overnight star, propelling her to the top of actress rankings in the 70s.

Tragedy struck Leena's family when her older brother, who married Atmaram's daughter, died by suicide in 1985.
