About Kamal Haasan
Kamal Haasan is an Indian actor, filmmaker, screenwriter, singer, television presenter, social activist, and politician. He mainly works in Tamil cinema.
He has appeared in many Tamil films.
Considered one of the best actors in Indian cinema, Haasan is also known for introducing new technologies and cosmetics to the Indian film industry.
He has won Four National Film Awards, Nine Tamil Nadu State Film Awards, Four Nandi Awards, One Rashtrapati Award, Two Filmfare Awards, and 17 Filmfare Awards South.
Haasan was awarded the Kalaimamani Award in 1984 and the PadmaShri in 1990.
He received the President's Gold medal in 1960 for his work as a child artist in the Tamil film Kalathur Kannamma.
His breakthrough as an actor came in the 1975 film Apoorva Raagangal.
He portrayed a young man in love with an older woman.
His first National Film Award was for his role as a caring school teacher in the film Moondram Pirai.
